2014 Home Price Wrap Up
Here we are in 2015.
2014, In California, was the year of the drought, and for real estate sales, the year of increasing values. All areas in California that we track, increased in average or median sales price, from the beginning to the end of 2014.
All the way from a 2.8% increase in Orange County to a whopping 29.2% increase in Average Sales Prices in Santa Cruz County. Keep in mind that Santa Cruz county has just about the least volume and some of the most varied properties in the state, so it’s increase should be taken with a bit of a grain of organic, non chemically enhanced, non-GMO salt.
Next was Los Angeles County, with a 27.7% increase, followed by San Francisco at 21.2% and Sonoma County at 20.6%.
This was by no means the way the entire state went. The least populated areas, including the Central Valley Counties saw increases anywhere from 6-12%.
In the Bay Area, San Mateo County saw a 20.6% increase in the median and Contra Costa and Alameda Counties at 9.6 and 9.4%, respectively.
